Tanned Tin: cultural event
The Tanned Tin festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with the fourth consecutive edition in the city of Castellon for the next 12 to 16 November. Organized by Acuarela in collaboration with Septiembre Recuerdos, Tanned Tin meets the decade as one of the most prominent and innovative independent music festivals in Europe. Always trying to focus the interest of the audience on emerging artists, bands that have barely toured our venues, or unjustly neglected groups, each year the festival aims to offer an exciting and varied selection of sounds within the vibrant and creative scene of international non-commercial music - from post-hardcore to folk via pop, experimentation or acoustic sounds - that leaves no one indifferent.
Tanned Tin: festival of reference
Tanned Tin is the meeting point for the music fan who wants to be surprised and amazed by the tasting menu we are trying to bring to their table in each edition. A festival of reference for other festivals (many bands that have first played in this festival have then go on to play at the Primavera Sound or FIB festivals). In its 10 years of existence many have seen for the first time in Spain bands such as CocoRosie, Animal Collective, The American Analog Set, Six Organs of Admittance, Matt Elliott, The Decemberists, Magic Markers, Hella, Final Fantasy, M. Ward, The Ex, Tarentel, Dolorean and Damien Jurado, among more than 200 bands.
Tanned Tin: intimacy and quality
The intimacy between audience and artist that the Tanned Tin festival achieves is due to programming in small cozy venues - this year all evening concerts will be held at the Teatro Principal (from 12 to 16 November) plus the usual matinees at the Casino Antiguo (14 and 15). This, together with the care we put into the choice of technical equipment and backline to try to get the best possible sound, are two of the hallmarks of this festival, which offers 40 bands at a very reduced price. This year for the first time there will be 5-day tickets, and the shows will be better distributed between the five days to extend the performance time of some bands in an effort to improve the enjoyment of the attendee
